Yixiang Chemical: Smart Manufacturing Meets Sustainable Innovation

At Chongqing Yixiang Chemical’s MMA production base, the entire process—from raw material input to temperature, pressure, and hydraulic control—is managed via a centralized system. Operators can adjust key parameters with the touch of a button, improving efficiency while reducing labor and safety risks. The company recently launched an energy-saving expansion project, using big data and intelligent technology to visualize production processes. This marks a shift from the traditional image of chemical plants with tall chimneys and strong odors.
In a pioneering move for sustainability, Yixiang Chemical has partnered with Double Elephants Electronic to recycle hazardous waste. Organic waste liquids from Yixiang’s ammonium sulfate production, over 8,000 tons annually, are converted into reusable sulfuric acid through a point-to-point recycling model. This collaboration saves Yixiang about US$1.1 millio in disposal costs and allows Double Elephants to reduce raw material usage, creating a win-win solution. This innovative approach not only addresses environmental challenges but also serves as a model for hazardous waste reduction and resource recycling across the chemical industry.
